A teenager hauled up before the courts for breaking her ASBO has vowed to change her ways.

Victoria Pickford, 19, admitted entering Poundland in George Yard shopping centre, Braintree on December 1, despite being banned from all non-food stores in Braintree and Colchester.

She was given the anti social behaviour order in February after shop lifting and threatening store staff. Miss Pickford, who grew up in Witham, claims she had been shopping with her sister and nephew and wandered in to the store by mistake while chatting.

As soon as she realised her mistake she tried to leave but was stopped by George Yard shopping centre staff who had been following her on CCTV.

She said: “We went in to get my nephew some juice, as my sister went to pay, I thought, ‘Oh gosh I am not meant to be here and tried to leave’.

“I really did not want to break my ASBO.

“I’m really trying to change, for example, if I’m out and people upset me I try to stay calm and think of my niece and nephew."
