Popstar Olly Murs is hoping to win his first ever Brit Award after receiving two nominations.
The Witham singer has been nominated in the single of the year category for his number one single Troublemaker, which featured American rapper Flo Rida.
It is the third consecutive year Olly has been nominated for best single, but he has yet to win the award.
In addition, the former X Factor finalist was also shortlisted for best British male solo act when the nominations were announced yesterday.
Olly, who is currently on holiday with friends in Barbados, reacted to news of his nomination on Twitter.
He said: “Oh my days! Nominated for best British male - me and the lads just did massive cannonballs into the pool.
“Honestly couldn't be happier right now. To get nominated in best male is an amazing achievement for me.”
The 2013 Brit Awards take place on February 20 at the O2 in London.
