Workers commuting to and from London have been hit by yet another above-inflation increase in rail fares.

Season ticket prices to London have increased by 4.1% for rail users travelling from Braintree and Witham stations.

It means commuters travelling between Braintree and London Liverpool Street will now have to pay more than £4,000 per year.

This year’s increase in rail fares comes after prices were increased by 5.9% a year ago - daily commuters have to pay £300 more for an annual season ticket compared to two years ago.
