Witham: Parish council install CCTV after robbery
A new CCTV system and lighting have been installed in a carpark where a woman was robbed.
Parish Councillors decided to ramp up safety outside Feering Community Centre following the incident at around 9.45pm on October 15.
A 19-year-old man from Leyton, East London was arrested near the Fortune of War in Laindon shortly after the incident.
He is due in court on February 26 meanwhile officers are still searching for two other men.
Paul Petto, chairman of Feering Parish Council, said: “We were extremely concerned after a woman was robbed in the car park.
“We wanted to act quickly to have CCTV and lighting installed and so paid for the security out of the parish reserves."
