Braintree: Residents refuse to pay council tax after weeks living next to illegal travellers site
Furious residents are refusing to pay council tax after living next to a filthy illegal travellers site for seven weeks.
The travellers first arrived at the Broomhills Industrial Estate, off Rayne Road, Braintree, in November, when about 20 caravans pitched outside empty industrial units.
After a failed eviction attempt on December 7 and with another planned this week, they finally left of their own accord on Friday.
