Braintree: Solo rower Charlie Pitcher ready for world record Atlantic crossing attempt
For a select few people, rowing solo across the Atlantic Ocean would represent an incredible once-in-a-lifetime achievement.
But not for Charlie Pitcher, who, incredibly, is preparing himself to do it for a second time.
Serial adventurer Charlie, from Felsted, crossed the Atlantic for the first time in 2010, less than a year after completing a gruelling 151-mile foot race across the Sahara Desert.
But this time the father-of-four, who quit his job as a builder to dedicate himself full-time to his latest challenge, has a world record in his sights.
