This taxi was found abandoned in 6ft of water at a notorious flooding spot.

Terling Ford has claimed many cars over the years, despite warning signs.

Paul Harrison, of Owls Hill, Terling, photographed this latest victim yesterday.

He said the car had been there since Christmas eve.

“A tow truck attempted to retrieve the car on Christmas Day but the steel cable snapped," said Mr Harrison.

An agricultural vehicle and farm worker had to haul it out yesterday.

Don't be to quick to judge, the taxi was left there on Christmas Eve and the photo was taken on Boxing Day, enough time for the waters to rise to the level shown. It could be that the taxi suffered a mechanical failure that was nothing to do with the fact it was left at a ford (admittedly a silly place to leave it). An attempt to recover the taxi was made on Chistmas Day, but it failed and hence the photo shown.
