A widow whose husband’s memorial bench was removed without her knowledge is prepared to take her fight to MPs and councillors.
Braintree Council took away the seat dedicated to Barry Wright in Derwent Way, Whitecourt, in November after residents complained to Great Notley Parish Council about antisocial behaviour from teenagers using it as a meeting place.
Parish council chairman Graham Butland, who is also district council leader, has suggested moving it to a play area or other location.
But Mrs Wright, 51, wants it reinstated near the bus stop in Derwent Way and would take the matter to full council if needs be and her MP.
