Witham: Couple horrified as car kills animal they were trying to save
A couple are disgusted a motorist ran over and killed a deer as they were trying to save it.
Amber Shepherd and partner Simon Griffiths were driving in Cressing Road in Witham on Saturday night when they came across the injured animal lying in the road.
They saw that the deer was still moving, so stopped to help and called the non-emergency number, 101, but as they were tending to the animal another car struck it and killed it outright.
