A lifesaver has been honoured with a place in the Order of St John, approved by the Queen.
St John Ambulance volunteer Paula Franklin attended a prestigious investiture ceremony at the Order’s historic 12th century Priory Church in Clerkenwell, London.
As a Royal Order of Chivalry, everyone who is accepted as a member is approved by the Queen, its sovereign head.
Mrs Franklin, 66, joined the first aid charity 25 years ago and has been president of the Witham division for more than ten years.
