PUPPY parents are wanted to help train dogs who help those with disabilities.
Canine Partners train assistance dogs and is looking for Essex volunteers to help look after the young animals.
The doggy daddies and mummies look after a puppy from the age of eight weeks up until it is ready for advanced training, which can take from six to 18 months. This includes offering the puppy a loving home during its training, taking the puppy to weekly training classes at Writtle College, Chelmsford, and socialising the puppy into the local community.
Reasonable travel expenses will be covered and puppy food, toys, equipment, all veterinary costs and training is provided.
- To become a volunteer puppy parent call Emily Lawrence on 07956 178543 or email essex@caninepartners.org.uk. For more information about Canine Partners call 08456 580480 or visit the charity's website.
