A new leisure centre has been delayed again and is now set to open two and a half years later than originally planned.
Witham Leisure Centre is due to be built in Spinks Lane to replace the existing Bramston Sports Centre, in Bridge Street.
Building work on the site will not begin until the spring, ahead of a proposed opening in summer 2014.
When the project was first suggested in 2009, Braintree Council hoped the centre would be ready by the end of 2011, ahead of the London Olympics.
