Despicable burglars raided a disabled pair’s home and stole more than £1,000 cash they had saved up for Christmas presents.

Mum and son, Harry and Myrtle Redkin, had gone out for lunch, when the thieves broke in to their home between 9.40am and 1pm on Saturday.

Mr Redkin, 57, was paralysed from the waist down in a horrific car accident at Great Leighs in 1980 and Myrtle, 85 is profoundly deaf.

He said: “It’s horrible, we have had our Christmas [taken] now."
