Witham: Former town resident dies at age of 106
A former Witham resident has died at the age of 106.
Gladys Emily Rowland, formerly of Highfields Road in Witham and Church Road in Hatfield Peverel passed away at Firstlings Residential Home in Heybridge on November 13.
Born on May 27, 1906, Gladys was the eldest of four children and as a youngster worked with her father transporting cherries from their home in Great Totham to Wilkins Jam in Tiptree and Witham Railway Station.
