Braintree: Snow shuts schools and causes travel problems
More than 30 schools have been closed and Stansted Airport's runway has shut after snowfall across Essex.
Police warned of treacherous driving conditions and said there had been 45 reported crashes since 05:30 GMT.
So far we do not know of any school closures in the Braintree District. Please check your school website for more details.
Edith Borthwick School is open but school transport is suspended.
The snowfall has caused large amounts of congestion. There is slow moving traffic south bound between Marks Farm Roundabout and Galley’s Roundabout.
The A120 in both directions between M11 J8 (Stansted) and Braintree Galley’s Roundabout is in the snow. There is slow moving traffic.
There is also slow moving traffic on the A131 between Braintree and Great Waltham.
We will update this page when we have more information.
