Pupils could be given iPod Touches to help with their studies.

All 70 teachers and learning support assistants at Maltings Academy in Witham have been given an iPad 2, at a cost of just under £20,000.

And the Spinks Lane school hopes to give every pupil an iPod Touch in future, which retails on manufacturer Apple’s website from £169.

It would cost under £20,000 to kit out each year group with one of the devices.
