Police have pledged to commit extra resources to patrol residential areas after a recent spate of burglaries.
Residential properties across the district have suffered from break-ins in recent weeks, with the Times aware of 15 burglaries this month alone in Braintree.
Homeowners are being warned to lock all doors and windows in a bid to combat burglars.
Chief Inspector Nick Lee, Braintree district commander, said: “We have seen a rise in dwelling burglaries across most areas in Essex, and Braintree hasn’t been any different.
“We have deployed extra resources to patrol at the relevant times."
