The number of homeless people in Braintree, Halstead and Witham is rising.
Between January and September this year, 110 people have approached Braintree Council for help and 82 have been accepted as homeless.
Between April 2011 and the end of March this year, 209 people asked for help and 137 were found housing.
It compares to 185 people seeking council help in 2009/10 and 190 people in 2010/11.
