A woman has slammed vandals who slashed the tyres and broke the windscreen wipers of her family car.

Gillian Pallant, 59, of Church Lane, Bocking, discovered the damage to the green Nissan Micra on Thursday morning.

She said: “They have kicked the wing mirror, broke all the windscreen wipers and let down the tyres.

“My brother went out but came back and I thought he had forgotten something but now we haven’t got our car.”

She said the vandalism has caused a huge amount of stress as her brother uses it to get to work everyday.

An Essex Police spokesman said the vandalism took place between 4pm on Wednesday and 7am on Thursday.

He estimated the cost of the damage to the two slashed tyres would be in the region of £50 to £150.

Anyone with information is asked to call Braintree police on 101.
