A driver ran over a suicidal man who jumped from a bridge and drove home without stopping, an inquest heard.

Mark Lucas suffered serious injuries after jumping from a bridge on the Ardleigh Interchange onto the A120 below.

He was then hit by Witham man Peter Webb’s Range Rover and dragged along the carriageway, on November 5, 2011.

Mr Webb said he drove over Mr Lucas, 35, but did not realise he had hit him.

The 40-year-old then drove home without stopping, calling 999 from his mobile while driving.
