Braintree: Pupils enjoy free film screening Braintree: Pupils enjoy free film screening

School pupils enjoyed a free screening of a Bafta award winning film as part of a national initiative.

Pupils from Notley Green Primary School, in Blickling Road, Great Notley, were among half a million schoolchildren across the UK who have benefitted from National Schools Film Week.

Last Tuesday, pupils went to a screening of the Stephen Spielberg-directed movie War Horse at Cineworld in Braintree.

The 2011 film, based on the book by Michael Morpurgo, tells the story of a horse called Joey, who was purchased by the British cavalry during the First World War, and the attempts of its previous owner, a teenager named Albert, to be reunited with him.
