Essex: Deadline looms for youth assembly nominations

Nominations for Young Essex Assembly close next week
Children and teenagers only have a few more days to register their interest in standing in this year’s Young Essex Assembly (YEA) elections.
The YEA is an elected body of 75 young people aged between 11 and 19.
Members campaign on issues such as reduced transport fares, anti-bullying, recycling and raising cultural awareness.
They serve for two years before new candidates are given the opportunity to stand in local elections. Deadline for signing up is October 31.
