Witham town centre will be given a £10,000 boost and a chance to win a further £1 million.

Witham Town Centre Development Community Interest Company was  announced as one of more than 300 towns that will be given the Government cash grant.

The fund was available to towns that were supported by their MP and had previously applied for the Portas Pilot.

What are they planning to do with the £10k? Witham is starting from a very poor place so making the biggest improvement and getting a chance at the £1m will probably be impossible but worth a stab I suppose. Good luck - they will need it. Montygirl's idea is probably better.
