A teenager will be spending Christmas and New Year working in an Indian orphanage.
Jess Meechan, 17, is aiming to raise £1,500 to donate to the orphanage in Madurai, in southern India.
Jess, of Queenborough Lane, Great Notley, has already completed a sponsored walk from Rayne to Marks Tey with two friends from Colchester Sixth Form.
Her next fundraiser is a barn dance on November 24 at Great Notley Community Centre.
Any businesses that can donate raffle prizes, food and drink can call 07966 787557 or email alexismeechan@aol.com
Tickets are only available to people who know the family and their friends and cost £15.
