Braintree: Sainsbury's olive branch to under fire traders

Sainsbury's want to build a new store off Pods Brook Road.
Independent Braintree businesses could benefit from tens of thousands of pounds of investment.
Retail giant, Sainsbury’s have pledged to fund a loyalty scheme called All The Little Shops (ATLS), if their planning application for a superstore at Pods Brook Road goes ahead.
The scheme, which would be open to all independents in the town, would see traders sign up to a group website where they could create special offers and sell products online using a PayPal account.
Businesses would pay £10 per month to be enrolled in the programme however Sainsbury’s said it would meet the majority of the running cost for a period of five years.
