Braintree: Call to action for Cressing Road Braintree: Call to action for Cressing Road

Residents are once again calling for action on a road where there have been two collisions in three days.

The first happened last Thursday in Cressing Road when a car collided with a lamppost.

At 9pm on Saturday two people suffered minor neck injuries when blue Ford Mondeo and blue Citroen Saxo collided at the junction of Chapel Hill and Cressing Road, Braintree.

Essex Police said two people were taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, and a section of the road was closed until 10.30pm while the vehicles were removed.

Karen Brown, chairman of the Braintree East Community Group, said: “I do think Highways need to look into this junction as residents requested.

“It does need to be looked at and residents need to be taken seriously.

“It is a major concern, it really is.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
