A masked robber who held a scythe blade to a woman’s throat is still at large.

The man who is believed to have been wearing a black balaclava threatened a 32-year-old woman on the riverside walk near Braintree Railway Station, at 11.45pm on Wednesday.

The attacker approached the woman from behind before searching her pockets and forcing her to handover her phone, handbag and purse before managing to flee.

The victim is understood to have been unemployed and returning from a trial to start a new job.

She has spoken out after the attack in the hope of warning others not to use to the path so it cannot happen again.
