Bones belonging to 24 more bodies have been found at former quaker burial ground which is now a building site.

The find at the Bayer site in Halstead adds to the 33 remains which the Gazette reported on last week Bellway, the housing developer, is preparing to build 43 homes in Colchester Road and the findings have caused much interest in the town.

They follow a set of bones found by the land's former owner, businessman Eric Hobbs, before he sold it in March.

Archeologists have now also been called in to examine the remains of a much older set of bones, believed to have been buried long before the others.
