Shopping centre goes green
A shopping centre in Braintree is launching its own environmentally friendly shopping bag.
George Yard Shopping Centre will start selling fabric bags adorned by its new ecologo from June 4 for £2 each.
Brenda Baker, George Yard manager, said: "We take our responsibility seriously to support the community and the environment.
"I hope the new bags will have a real impact in cutting down on plastic. That's the object of the exercise.
"We want to help our customers be green and everybody is under a lot of pressure to be but it's not always easy to do it so we are trying to offer a helping hand."
