Red carpet treatment for Notley school prom

Gorgeous ladies in their prom dresses at Notley School

All the glamour and excitement of red carpets, papparazi and screaming crowds came to Notley High School's prom.

The atmosphere was "fantastic" as crowd barriers went up, and year 11 pupils arrived looking their best in an array of creative and fun vehicles.

An army truck, tractor, Knight Rider's car and paramedic's car were just some of the ways students drew up, on Monday night(12/5).

An ice cream van dropped off students then gave out free ice creams but the prize for best entrance went to Mitchell Turner, 16, lead guitarist in a band which arrived playing rock and roll in a side-opening van.

Francis Stokes and Hayley Franklin were best couple, while Phil Worth and Tessa Crossley had the most tongue-in-cheek transport with a child's push car.

The students were welcomed as they drew up, and then went inside for a three course meal and disco.

Year 11 manager Hazel Park described the event as "a well-oiled machine".

She said: "They are a credit to their year and the school and we look forward to them doing them doing fantastically in exams."
