A new store is set to open in White Notley where the old post office was.

Niki Harrison, 32, of The Street, White Notley, is behind The Egg Box - a general store which will even stock eggs produced by Mrs Harrison's chickens.

She said she thought about opening the store, which is her first business, when the post office closed in February to bring back a community facility in the village.

The mother-of-two, who previously worked in insurance, said she had also expressed interest in the post office returning to the store.

The Egg Box, in The Cross Keys, The Street, opens on Saturday at 10am.

Opening hours will be 8am to about 4.30pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
