A major proposal to build 268 more homes on a housing development is set to go before a planning committee.
Proposals to build 268 homes, a business park, primary school, neighbourhood centre, community facilities and surrounding infrastructure is due to go before Braintree Council's Planning Committee on Tuesday.
Should the plans be approved four shops will be built quite early on.
There are a number of financial contributions the landowners are being required to make before building work can start.
A footway contribution of £23,000 is required as well as a £45,000 public transport contribution, £123,000 towards traffic management and £50,000 towards cycleways.
There will also be contributions of hundreds of thousands of pounds towards a piece of art work, off site open space and playing fields.
At a meeting of Witham Local Committee on May 1 the proposal was outlined for councillors' information.
The main concern raised was over the amount of car parking on the site in general and also at two proposed football pitches.
The proposal has been recommended for approval with a number of conditions attached and the plans will be considered by Braintree Council's Planning Committee on May 13 at Causeway House, Bocking End.
