Two fantastic shows are coming to Witham this weekend.

On Friday, the Funhouse Comedy Night welcomes Keith Farnan, Gerry K, Jollyboat and compere Spiky Mike to delight the audience with their clever wit and fantastic one liners.

Keith Farnan has performed at the Edinburgh Festival four times and has appeared on the BBC’s Michael Mcintyre Comedy Roadshow, as well as other programmes across the world.

East-end born but Essex raised Gerry has an anecdotal, observational and honest style that will give you some truly original insights into life in rural England.

Jollyboat has just returned from performing at the Edinburgh Fringe with their musical humour.

All three will be performing from 8.30pm, with doors at 7.30pm at the Public Hall, Collingwood Road, Witham. Tickets are £10 in advance from 01376 502674 or £12 on the door.

On Saturday, mark the anniversary of the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War with Merry it Was to Laugh There.

The production captures the realities of war through the words of the soldiers and those left to keep the home fires burning. Weaving together poetry and diaries, it reveals fascinating and poignant details about the everyday lives of the men who were fighting and the women waiting for their return.

The production will take place in the Royal British Legion Hall, Newland Street, Witham at 8pm.

Tickets are £7.50 for adults and £5 for the under 16s. They are available from 01376 502674.
