Bedrooms: 4

The Old Bakery first listed as Grade II in July 1998 stated that the cottage circa 18th century or earlier timber framed property with a thatch roof, it was run as the village bakery until the 1980’s and still retains the feature bread oven built by Collins of Bristol. The property was lovingly refurbished in 1998 with internal wattle and daub and external lath and plaster work. Recently the current owners have extended and renovated the old bakery again adding a large predominantly glass under pitch slate tiled roof family room to the rear. This useful room links the main cottage with the former bake house building to the rear. The kitchen and family bathroom have been renovated and each room has been decorated throughout. The property stands back behind the greensward of Hawbush Green with its one and a half storey whited rendered elevation under a thatched roof. The character of the property is easy to spot as you pass.

Accessed via the entrance porch a door leads into the dining room with window to the front elevation, tiled floors and original Inglenook fireplace. The dining room is a good size and doors give access to the sitting room, study and kitchen. The sitting room is also a good size with exposed wall and ceiling beams with lime plastered panels. A rounded corner open fireplace adds a warm and cosy feel to this room with the tiled floors continuing through from the dining room. The study is also well appointed with windows to the front and side elevations and exposed brick work to the rear of the Inglenook can be found within this room. The kitchen has recently been re-fitted by the current owners with Italian marble floor tiling and solid Oak shaker style door fronts under corian work surfaces. There is a butler sink, integrated dish washer and electric Range Master range cooker. A further area of work surface continues beyond again having corian work surfaces and a door leads to the utility room. The utility room with its plumbing for washing machine, wall mounted gas central heating boiler, further shelved storage area. To the opposite end of the kitchen a doorway leads into the family bathroom with dual ended bath, wall mounted wash hand basin with drawers beneath and mirrored vanity unit above. There is a low level W.C and a further large walk in shower. The wall and floor tiles are all porcelain in a cream and brown similar to that of natural stone. Tiles in the wet room shower area are also porcelain and are small rectangles in a regular pattern.

From the rear of the kitchen leads into the family room where the Italian marble floor continues through and French doors lead to the side paved terrace. There are windows to all elevations of the room and a further door leads out to the opposite side courtyard. Worthy of note is the feature solid wood beam located to the far side of the room. A step leads into a lobby area where the feature bakery stove fronts can be found and doors lead to bedroom three and four both of which are double in size. Bedroom three has double fitted wardrobes and is a light and airy room with two windows to the side elevation, a further to the side front elevation and a door to the rear leads into the garden. Whilst an internal doorway leads through to the Jack and Jill en-suite shower room comprising corner shower, low level W.C and wash hand basin with vanity unit beneath. A further door leads into bedroom four with its window to the South West overlooking a second paved terrace.

From the kitchen stairs lead to the first floor where the master bedroom and second bedroom can be found both of which are double rooms with dormer windows to the front. Worthy of note is the large exposed wide floor boards in the master bedroom with infill rope feature between.Sitting Room
