Vandals caused "major flooding" and damage in a village toilet block.

It is the second time the £40,000 toilets on the Recreation Ground, Sible Hedingham, have been targeted since renovation.

In the ladies', men's and disabled toilet, culprits twisted taps round breaking the seal, which caused flooding.

In one toilet they burned holes in a toilet seat lid and ripped it off.

About £500 damage was caused.

Urgent repairs were carried out on Monday and the toilets are now in working order again.

Adrian Corder-Birch, parish council clerk, said: "It's a great nuisance."

Only two weeks after the renovated toilet had been opened in February this year, vandals ripped a hand-dryer of the wall and smashed tiles.

They also churned up a concrete path.

In total, the damage cost £500.

This is ridiculous. When are the police going to do something about this? They probably know who the culprits are - the same people we see hanging around Rippers court or the Total garage forecourt most weekends, intimidating people and vandalising cars.
Any time the police show up it's a couple of PCSO's in a poxy smart car who just laugh and joke with them. WOW. WHAT A DETERRENT, and we're paying for this ****.
Maybe we could save the money being wasted on CHEESE AND WINE at parish council meetings and pointless "public art" and buy some CCTV or a bobby for the beat.
