Braintree beaten in thriller

Braintree (246 for six) were beaten by Dunmow (247 for five) by five wickets in Marshall Hatchick Two Counties League division four.

A magnificent century by Dunmow's Andy Stoddard saw the visitors gain victory in an exciting match at Panfield Lane.

Half-centuries by Braintree's Simon Jones (79) and Jamie Foyster (53) had set a challenging target of 247 for the visitors.

But Stoddard's innings of 108, which included six sixes, was the difference between the two sides.

For a full match report, see this week's Braintree and Witham Times.
