Kingdom Hall nears completion
VOLUNTEERS have nearly finished a new place of worship.
Jehovah's Witnesses in Witham are building their Kingdom Hall in Hatfield Road, Witham, with the help of members from other congregations from across Essex and as far as London, Ipswich and Norwich.
Spokesman Barry Matthews said they had saved a substantial amount of money over the years to buy and redevelop the land, which used to be a derelict community hall next to the former Bridge Hospital, now a retirement village.
Among the volunteers are skilled professionals, including architects and builders, and they hope to complete the building work within the next fortnight.
