Big turnout expected for marathon
Halstead Road Runners are expecting more than 500 runners at their annual Halstead and Essex Marathon on Sunday.
It is the 14th year the race has taken place.
While postal entries are now closed, runners are invited to enter on the day.
Race headquarters is the Halstead Leisure Centre and the race start time is 10am, with medal presentation at 2pm.
Halstead Road Runners duo Bob Parmenter and Andy Wilmot walked the Heritage coastal Marathon in fine weather.
The event started in Thorpeness, Suffolk and followed the beautiful coastline.
Parmenter and Wilmot finished together in five hours 43 minutes eight seconds.
Wayne Kern and Keith Thorogood did the Breckland 10k.
Kern finished 30th in a time of 41 minutes five seconds.
Keith Thorogood clocked a time of 50m 40s to finish 132nd.
