Beauty salon shuts
An award winning beauty salon has closed due to "unfortunate personal and financial circumstances."
Bennissimo in Guithavon Street, Witham, opened in 1992 and Carol Lunnon, the shop's owner described it as her "whole life."
Carol Lunnon started Bennissimo in 1992 and ten years later the salon beat off competition from 76 other salons in the South East to win the Decleor Aroma Gold Salon Award.
The business started out in Maldon Road, Witham, but in 1999 it had become popular enough for Miss Lunnon to move to a larger premises in Guithavon Street.
After 17 years the shop has closed and Miss Lunnon has left a message on the salon's website.
It explains the salon has closed due to "unfortunate personal and financial circumstances beyond my control and the untimely lease expiration.
"I have had to close the door on a business I have nurtured and loved and above all been proud to own for 17 years."

Whilst sorry to see any business go, I do think that the whole attitude of the ladies in the salon were 'if your face fits' regardless of how much you were paying. The costs for the service were more than other places and the service was niot as good.
