Last set to pit wits against Holdsworth
Witham Town caretaker duo Tony Last and Paul Daley will pit their wits against a former member of the Crazy Gang tomorrow.
Town play host to Redbridge, who are managed by ex-Wimbledon striker Dean Holdsworth.
Holdsworth, who also played for the likes of Bolton Wanderers and Coventry City and made nearly 500 league and cup appearances in a 20-year playing career - was a key part of the Dons' side that also featured the likes of Vinny Jones and John Fashanu.
Now he has turned his hand to management and has steered the Motormen to third place in the Ryman League division one north table.
Caretaker manager and chairman Tony Last knows that the visit of Holdsworth and his Redbridge team will test his own in-form side to the limit.
"Redbridge could potentially be our biggest test of the season so far," he said.
Witham have been stuck in 15th place in the table for several weeks and are desperate to finish the season with a flourish.
The club have nine games of the campaign to go - with four of their next five matches at home.
Last said: "We're getting sick of being in 15th position!
"We've been there for five weeks or so now and I just want to get up the league."
