Open forum: Derek Jones reported on highways issues, including the approach signs and new road layout on the B1256 Priors Green development.

Highways will clear the vegetation obstructing sightlines at the entrance of Chestnut Way.

Takeley Chapel: David Daykin outlined the proposal to develop a community garden with seating.

The garden will be used by schoolchildren during school hours and open to the public at all other times. The initial estimate is £2,000.

The chapel is in the process of applying for grants/funding. Councillors supported the proposal in principle and await costings before confirming a contribution.

Highways: A hedge is obstructing the footpath and sightlines in Parsonage Road. The clerk will request the hedge be cut back.

Off airport parking/fly parking was reported in Morrells Green, South Road, Elm Close and Sycamore Close.

Community speed watch: Monitoring was carried out in Takeley Street and in Parsonage Road and Station Road, Brewers End.

Essex Police speed enforcement was carried out on August 27 in the 30mph limits in Takeley Street and in Hatfield Broad Oak.

Eight fixed penalty notices were issued in Takeley and two in Hatfield Broad Oak. The Takeley Street fixed camera is operational.
