At the annual meeting on Wednesday, part of the theme of president Ann Welsh’s address was “life is a journey, not a race”.
She thanked members for responding to charity appeals with understanding, friendship and love.
Ann was re-elected president for the coming year.
Secretary Penny Norton’s report of the highlights of an energetic year’s activities demonstrated how adventurous members were.
Trish Conder showed a video and slides of children receiving presents from Operation Christmas Child, and spoke of her visit to orphanages in Belarus.
The next meeting will be on November 12, in the Memorial Hall at 7.45pm, when Joyce McLaren will demonstrate Christmas with a tasty difference.
