The September meeting was held at Saling village hall, when 67 members and three guests enjoyed an illustrated lecture entitled Materials and Techniques of Constable’s Exhibited Oils of 1820 to 1830.
Speaker Sarah Cove, a leading authority on Constable, demonstrated the fine detail of his painting techniques.
The annual autumn lunch will be at the Royal British Legion Hall, Felsted, on October 8 at 11am, when Elaine Leppard will speak about the Mercury Theatre.
The next lecture will be on October 29, at Saling village hall, on the development of the St Ives art colony.
