Scout leader Steve Sudbury is writing a book about the first 100 years of Scouting in Halstead and Colne Valley.
 

There is a group photo thought to have been taken in 1960 of 3rd Halstead Scouts and 1st Castle Hedingham Scouts setting off to camp in the back of a removal van.
 

A second picture shows Scouts in the back of the van with Rev Swallow and a Scout leader.
