Witham: Mother angry after home raided
A mother said she feels “constantly on edge” after her home was raided as part of a police drugs operation. Homes in Witham and Hatfield Peverel were targeted on Thursday evening in a drugs crackdown. They stormed one home in Mortimer Road, Hatfield Peverel, but made no arrests or seized any property after searching the property for more than an hour and half. The mum-of-four who lives at the house but did not want to be identified said: “I feel very angry that our home has been raided. “It was so upsetting to know they were going through our personal things and our children’s bedrooms. “The officers said that they had received information from a number of sources. “Someone has obviously put our address forward. “Police did not find anything here, which we knew they would not. “They are never going to find anything here because we are not involved in drugs and never will be. “I am pleased that they seem to have recovered what they were looking from the other homes they searched. “However the incident has left me feeling on edge.” read more
